- "I can’t thank you enough for organizing last night’s get together and Nancy for providing the venue. I am hugely appreciative! This sort of get-together is the very best way, in my opinion, to share information that inspires change, and brings forth commitment to action. We women (along with a few good men!) can indeed change the world."

- "Helen – What an incredibly energizing and yet peaceful afternoon we had exploring movement and sound. Thank you for creating a safe & sacred place for us to go within and find our voices. So much insecurity and self-consciousness can arise when invited to do so, and it was empowering to break through the hesitation and make some noise! It was especially touching to connect with others through the vibration of sound. What a pleasure to experience such surrender & pure joy! When using sounding in our poses, even the softest ‘hum’ created more space and light-ness. In fact, a gentle humming seemed to linger in the studio after everyone had departed – a testament to the depth of our work under your guidance. Although our focus was the throat chakra, I’m reminded time and time again that this is heart work. What a gift to spend time in that place."

- "So, thank-you. Thank-you for creating a space in which I can be honest - with myself, with others. Thank-you for helping me to be open and curious, receptive to the big and little miracles in life. I feel that I am somehow better, more complete, for allowing these echoes to bounce around, for not being afraid to confront that which they may expose. I know that this is my work, not yours, but I am grateful for your presence and influence in my life."

- "After having explored several other approaches to the body, discovering Helen Duquette and her approach to Yoga was for me a revelation. Rather than focusing on the ideal posture and on achieving, I learned two fundamental principles: Be exactly where you are and undo years of bad habits. Helen is exquisitely intuitive. She is always exactly there where the student is, not caught up in some preconceived ideas of her own.
Continuing Vanda Scaravelli’s tradition, she works with gravity, space and breath. She teaches how to surrender to gravity and use it to one’s advantage, opening the spine and the whole body into the new spaces that this letting go creates. Her instructions are precise, yet never just focused on the body, but including the mind as well. Sometimes, her instructions seem maddeningly paradoxical, until suddenly the light comes on and a whole subtle world emerges that was hidden from view. Helen is provocative, an original in the best sense of the term, and even though her a pproach may not be for everybody, in working with her you cannot avoid being deeply transformed."

- "I have had a 15 year association with Helen, as a teacher, a work colleague and as a friend. She excels in each of these. My first connection with Helen was as the founding teacher/adminstrator of the MS Society yoga classes here in Mississauga. She continued in this role for more than a dozen years, introducing many MS clients to the restorative benefits of yoga and mentoring many teachers to capably follow her. She attracted me then to my personal experience of yoga that has become a compulsion in my life. She excels as a teacher and inspired me to complete her 2 year teacher training program. In addition, for two years Helen ran an amazing MS fundraiser called Salute the Sun which raised $20,000 for the Mississauga Chapter. In addition to being my valued friend, I recommend her highly as a dedicated, skilled teacher who practices and lives with deep integrity."

- “Over the teacher training you allowed me to feel confident in discovering a new path by creating a safe environment – this is something I will never forget and I have changed as a person as a result. You really taught me that yoga is life, it’s who you are as a person and how you interact with the world. I continue to be curious, explore and discover because I learned how to maintain this safe environment for myself, not only in yoga classes or in personal practice, but in everyday life itself.
Thank you for making a difference and teaching me how to pass this gift.”

- “As a studio owner and student of Helen for many years, it is my pleasure to have her come and work with my students. Her commitment to her own practice and depth of understanding are evident in her teaching, and her interpretation of the poses is always fresh and punctuated with new insights to explore. Helen continues to inspire me, my practice and my teaching, and I’m thrilled when my students also have the opportunity to learn from her. We look forward to her annual visit to the studio!”

- “It was wonderful… Some strange combination of intensity and ease that often seems to happen in your classes. I feel inspired! I think that has been one of the big things I have learned from you. Learning and progressing doesn’t have to have this weight of accomplishment attached to it. You can approach the practice with a sense of ease.”

- “I thank you for all that you’ve been to me. You have brought me to a deeper, joyful place that has enhanced my work as a teacher and in turn confidence to go forward.
My wish for me is to always have the opportunity and pleasure to continue being your student/friend.
Your presence is a gift. I am eternally grateful for being blessed with you.”
